Lincoln to Kennedy: Myths,   Legends, Curses & the Unsettling Trail Toward Dallas
Keynote speaker  Rick Klinedinst will explore many of the myths surrounding Abraham Lincoln and the often-talked-about coincidences that link him to John F. Kennedy — some plausible, others more imaginative. He’ll also examine the tragedies often referred to as the Kennedy Curse. In conclusion, he’ll step into newly surfaced information that casts darker shadows across the JFK story — fragments we’ll return to in a  separate program in October, when the deeper you dig, the more unsettling the questions become.

Dana Smith has self-published a historical romance, No Home But the Heart, and will share her insights, her sometimes unconventional approach to writing, and her personal journey to becoming an author. She will also include some suggestions and tips for self-publishing a book. She’ll have a few books available for sale.
 
Civil Rights Champions of West Central Illinois
From leading protests in the streets to shepherding legislation in the halls of Congress, two men from West Central Illinois had an outsize impact on civil rights in the 1960s. Chris Kaergard from The Dirksen Congressional Center will discuss the legacies of the Rev. C.T. Vivian and U.S. Sen. Everett Dirksen.

Did you know about the Canton Neighborhood Connection?  Founder Lorie Link will talk about what led her to bring this program to Canton, what projects were completed on Sept. 12th, and her plans for future events.

LLC favorite, Stan Ransom, will discuss this failed haberdasher from Missouri who shaped the world for decades.

Retired pharmacist Matt Vogel will give us the skinny on which vitamins and supplements are necessary and which are a scam, which vaccines are necessary for us, and what drug and medication reactions to watch for.  You won’t want to miss it!

Have you ever wondered what really happens when you call 911?  Join dispatch coordinator Kelly Sale to take a behind-the-scenes look at  emergency communications, and follow a 911 call from start to finish. Learn what they will ask you and why, as well as common misconceptions about 911.

Don’t Run from the Roses!
Join LLC favorite Christine Wright from Canton Hy-Vee Floral shop to learn how to design, care for, and make them last!  This is a hands-on class, bring clippers if you have them.  We’ll provide a few pairs.  Learn 3 different stages of design to get weeks out of beautiful fresh-cut roses!
