The American College of Surgeons (ACS) STOP THE BLEED® program is administered by the ACS Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) and taught to improve the care of injured patients before, during, and after hospitalization. This training includes a formal presentation which is then followed by hands-on practice. Participants practice applying direct pressure, packing wounds, and using a tourniquet to stop bleeding.
