ClassGraphic Explore the harvesting, drying & curing, testing, extraction, processing, and contemporary legal issues surrounding the cannabis plant. Students will receive hands on training through in-person lab exercises.

Lecture/Lab:  Thursdays, September 11 - December 11, 2025 from 2:30 - 6:30pm at Spoon River College Outreach.

Fieldtrips: Stoney Branch: September 17 & October 29
                  Nature's Grace and Wellness: October 10

Price: $719 $360 (Thanks to funding provided by Nature’s Grace & Wellness, we are able to offer the program at a discounted cost. A book is also included at no charge.)

Scholarship: One full scholarship is available each semester. Email lily.moser@src.edu for details.

Instructor: Thomas V. Vogel Tom is an SRC biology faculty member whose areas of expertise include Human Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics, Evolution, Science Education and Cannabis sativa Cultivation and Processing.

Age: Must be at least 18 years old.

The Spoon River College Outreach Cannabis Education Certificate consists of two classes. Cannabis Horticulture (Spring) and Cannabis Processing (Fall).

Cannabis education workshops are sponsored by Nature's Grace and Wellness, LLC. This sponsorship allows the college to offer classes at a reduced cost to participants.
