Monday, July 18
Bread & Butter Warm up your ovens because kids will be making Bread in Bag! They will learn about the process to create bread dough, proofing, yeast, and kneading dough. Each student will be bringing home one loaf of white bread to bake at home that day. And what is bread without a little butter? The students will also be making butter to spread on their fresh, warm bread. Instructor: Erin Orwig

Tuesday, July 19
Spinners Combine art with science to create a fun spinning toy! Students will design, cut out, and build their own spinners to take home. Instructor: Janet Young and Velvet Powell
Illinois’ Aquatic Food Chain This fascinating presentation starts with plankton, then fathead minnows and
crawfish, and moves up the food web to bullhead catfish, largemouth bass, and flathead catfish. Fishy fun for your day! Instructor: Van Grissom, IDNR
Wednesday, July 20
DIY Chalk Bombs! Do you love water balloons? Well, let’s take it up a notch and make Chalk Bombs! Students will use sidewalk chalk to create targets, and then throw water balloons filled with food coloring, water, and corn starch to “explode” into bright colors onto the targets. Students will receive instructions to make more Chalk Bombs at home Instructor: Andrea Barbknecht
Make Your Own Healthy Snacks! All kids love to snack! This session will focus on healthy and yummy snacks kids can make themselves. Instructors: Good Food Collaborative Staff

Drawing with a Twist See how a little bit of baby oil can enhance your colored pencil and oil pastel drawings.

Christmas in July The holiday season can be a great source of science experiments and craft projects. This will be a mix of science, art, engineering, and maybe a little bit of trivia! We will try to turn up the air conditioning to make it feel like December! Instructor: Erin Orwig
