ClassGraphic Discover how the story of the automobile in rural Illinois unfolds within one historic building in downtown Macomb. Once a bustling carriage shop, later a Ford dealership, and now home to a community museum, this site reflects over a century of local resilience and innovation. From rebuilding after a devastating fire to embracing a new purpose, each chapter reveals the determination of residents who looked to the future.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will use primary sources to uncover and interpret the building’s history, piecing together the story from authentic historical evidence. Designed to inspire multigenerational learning, the program offers families and friends a chance to explore the past together and connect with the roots of our local community.
